Kalrok, the Ever-Eating - Coloured

So, another Æterna piece. This here was something I came up with in Grade 3 or 4. Sometime around there, during a rainy day, I came up with the original, ice-breathing monstrosity.

So, in Æterna, there are no dragons. There are certainly things large and reptilian in nature, but no direct Western Dragons. As much as I love them, I wanted something different.

The Kalrok is essentially a giant Wyrm, that is highly adaptable to its environment. It grows according to the landscape around it. So, if it lived in caves, like the one above does, it would grow a thick scaled hide to resist the rocky terrain, lose use of its eyes, but heighten its other senses by use of specialize nerve centres running along the entire body. As a hunting and defense mechanism, the Kalrok produces liquid nitrogen (somehow, organically) to freeze the prey or opponents.

There are flying Kalroks, and ocean-dwelling Kalroks. They all, however, exhibit the same tendency of long term hibernation followed by several years of endless eating.

Oh, did I mention they don't ever stop growing? They won't stop until they die, which could be as long as several centuries.
